Tribute - Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson has died..

That was the news that had shock almost all the people around the globe. Michael Jackson suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, California on June 25, 2009. He was treated by paramedics at the scene, but was pronounced dead at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center two hours later. What so special about this man until me, myself tend to write my tribute to him on my blog. Well one thing for sure, its hard to deny that almost all people knew him or at least had heard one of his song. He had been known as a King of Pop, Megastar and famous for his moonwalk move.

I was born in 80's in the year where Michael was in the peak of his career, of course I am familiar with his music and indeed grown up with it. How could I forgot the leather jacket, fedora, sequinned glove, white socks.. everyone was eager to copy his image and style. I always dream to dance like him. He was one of a kind and an incomparable figure in music. I remember when I was on holiday with my family at Singapore back at 1996, instead of buying a souvenir, I bought a MJ compilation CD that cost $10. That's show his influences on us who love his music. Like P.Ramlee who was also my Idols, I always seen Michael as a creative person who brought new ideas, leads and became pioneer in the entertainment business.. He popularized several physically complicated dance moves such as the robot and the moonwalk, now iconic. He was also widely credited for transformed the music video from a promotional tool into an art form, with videos such as Thriller, "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" making him the first African American to amass a strong cross over following on MTV. Other's videos like Black and white, We're the World, They Never Care about us and Earth Song were full of messages of global issues. I never bored to watch his video clips even though I had few of CD/DVDs of his concert performance and compilations. It same like P Ramlee where I never missed to watch any of his movie when it's aired at TV even I already got lots of his video collection at home. Never bored to watch it again and again.

Of course every person has a flaw and MJ also as human had a life with great controversy on it. His facial surgery and his sexual case were always on top of media report. But like I said, I respected him as a performer and entertainer, not more than that. Further more to worship him... that's not my intention. Sincerely, I will always remember him as a great person that had contributed in entertaining our life and since he was favourable by many countries in the world, he also an iconic in uniting a nation without prejudice in skin colours, races and believes who shared the same passion, MUSIC! He had proved to us that music can unite people. I wish him, may he rest in peace. He will always be remembered, his legacy and music will remain forever. God bless you Michael!!
