Hari2 terakhir di Medan

Back to Home Countdown - 2 Days

Finally our mission here accomplished. Lega akhirnya segala tanggungjawab selesai.. (hopefully) and now perasaan nak blk Malaysia membuak2. We still have one more day here however masing2 dah hilang rasa excited nak jalan2 Medan lagi. Probably because we really had it enough here. Now I understand how Uda's feeling bila duduk negara org lama2. One thing yg best, since the Ramadhan month would be coming on the next week, we could see and experience the preparation of people here to welcome this holy month. Iklan2 puasa kat TV pun byk yg menarik.

Our accomodation during our stay at Medan. So affordable and comfortable.

Selesai sahaja urusan convocation Uda, we went back to our hotel. Yes, an accomodation that made you felt like home is highly on demand.

3 of us at the receptionist counter. The front liners were very friendly and helpfull

And mama tanpa ragu2 segera men"gonfirm"kan penempatan kami di sini for another one day. Bayar dulu... Standard room was about RM60/nite. Like I said, berbaloi2x....

Jemputla masuk ke bilik kami... gugup lak :P

It might not as luxury as our room back at Tiara Hotel. However all I can say is it just worth it with the amount we paid. Room was spacious, toilet clean, environment secured so what else we would want pun kan... Bersyukur dgn apa yg ade.

We took a rest, mmg mengulor habis until evening when we finally felt hungry.
So we changed our costume and went to walk at the nearest stall for dinner.

Hospital opposite the Cherry Pink Hotel.

According to Uda, this is her friend's house. Apa yg membuatkan saya kagum ialah pokok keladinya yg besar hampir sama ngan size keta.

Mostly rumah2 kat Medan nie, design mcm nie. One storey bungalow type.

Alright, we arrived at the famous mee kicap stall. Even it's just a street stall, but the staff has their own uniform. Curlass kan...

While waited for our foods to arrive, I had this sate kerang which mmg tersedia kat atas meja. Yummy!!

Cosy environment

Mama belaian jiwa.. Did you see air botol Fanta yg sedap tu. Still available here tau....

We also tried this Popia

With Chilli Ketchup. Licin adekah kerana sedap atau mmg lapar..??

Inilah dia mee kicap yg di war2kan tu. Mmg gile sedap!

Selesai makan, we went back to hotel. At night we just spent time laying on the bed, layan TV cite hindustan yg di alih bahasa ke bahasa Indonesia. Then layan Tarung Dangdut until we got sleepy and zzzzzz..zzz.........

Back to Home Countdown - 1 Day

I had a tough night. I felt a heat on my breath and all my muscle ached. My eyes watering and I sweat badly. All I wanted that time was woke up and hoping that I'm on my bed at Malaysia, breathing my room's air. Breakfast roti canai and hot teh tarik.............

However, it was all a dream. Back to reality... I was still in Medan. Luckily this big map pasted in the wall made me reminded on where my foot landed right now.

One more day to go, and we planned to wander around the shopping malls. Karaoke ke... watch movie ke.... However since suddenly I got fever, we all got no mood to go anywhere.

Did U see the Sari Roti there... I only got appetite to eat that bun since it's sweet. I lost my taste already...

My mom ajak breakfast at the cafe. Breakfast included in the package so better not to waste it kan.

They served Fried Rice that morning but still I cannot forced myself to eat. Perut sebu and tekak loya...

Sakit2 pun I didn't want to pamper myself. I need to go out, at least be under the sun so probably after I sweat... my fever would reduce. Rather than laying on the bed, it would make me more sick.

So I decided to follow Uda to pick up her convocation photo (taken during the convocation yesterday) at the photo shop. We went to the nearest mart first to buy some biscuits/buns for munchy2 during the night. Oh ya, mama chose to stay at the hotel layan sinetron.

Then while waited for the photo, we went to Sun City Mall and Uda treated me for drinks at Killiney (ala2 kopitiam cafe).

The menu

Xde selera, I just had a black coffee..

And a toast...

Selesai urusan we went back to hotel and this time kami naik "angkut2". It's a mini van acted like a bus. Tambangnya hanya RP1,000 = 40cents

Ya ini keadaannya sblm penuh. Waktu2 peak hour, bole siap berpangku org duduk dlm nie.

OMG, I reached at my room and jumped into my bed. My fever getting worse. I took a panadol and directly zzzzzzzz... I woke up in the evening only after Uda called me and I noticed she already bought a Nasi Bungkus. Sgt sedap, ayam penyet but like I said, i cannot finished even half. Rugi2... Then back to bed, continued sleeping. I was disable and I hated it. Can't wait for the next day. Never felt to be home so desperately....

Back to Home Countdown - It's the Day!!!

Finally hari yg di tunggu pun tiba. My fever still didn't show up any sign of recovery. But knowing that I would be in the flight to Malaysia soon gave me a motivation to be strong.

We had breakfast where they served a fried mee

My mom last pose at Cherry Pink Cafe. She like it a lot here. What a great hospitality she said...

Once the above picture taken, our taxi arrived and brought us to the final place before landed to Malaysia..... POLENIA AIRPORT, MEDAN

Because of the fever, I threw up and "chery berry" (diarrhea) a lot so I needed this isotonic drink to recover back all the missing minerals inside my body. Badan mmg dh lembik gile time nie, I ate panadol before went inside the flight and slept all over the journey from Medan to Malaysia. Totally flatted.

Alhamdullilah I only woke up once the flight nearly landed. I cannot imagine woke up during the journey in the air, felt dizzy and threw up in the flight.

The journey back to Kajang after that was like a dream. I didn't remember how I managed to pay my parking, got into the car. I don't even remember who drove my car that night... (but who else beside me who could drive, of course la my mom). Then all I know once I opened my eyes and spotted a familiar scent of my room's air, a familiar sight.... familiar sounds of my niece and nephew... tears came from my eyes and it's not because of the heat inside my body. It was really a happy tears. Happy to be back. All I can tell you, my fever was really bad until I felt like I was going to die. Seriously. And I don't want to die at other place than my home country. Called me Drama Queen, I don't care coz it was definitely what I felt. I never feel sick like that. Being disable...

Huhuhu... ape2 pun finally I'm home. Next week fasting and yeahhaaa still alive. Alhamdullilah... God still give me chance to live and practice a good deeds. Kalau x sedar diri lg mmg x patutla. Syukurrr2... Ape2pun sblm bertambah parah, I went to the clicic that morning and redeemed myself a MC for the coming Monday. Yeaahaa.

Sekian sahaja karangan saya buat kali ini. Hope you enjoy reading and wish U all also Happy Fasting. Salam Ramadhan to all beloved bloggers.....!!!!!

UDA's finally graduated - Convocation Day

That was the day.... The most awaited day for all of our family. Alhamdullilah UDA finally graduated. From the day she started her study at Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan we always looking forward for this day. Hoping that we all could come and witness her graduated. However we as human could only planned. While HE is the one who decides everything. My father, even hayatnya x panjang utk menyaksikan hari bersejarah ini, I'm certain that he already satisfied with Uda's achievement. He once told me that he don't think that his life would be long enough to wait until Uda graduated. However he was relief, puas hati and knew that Uda could make it to become a doctor because she already on the right track. And atas dasar amanah itulah, I took the responsibility to take care of Uda (financially and personally) to motivate her together with my mom and other sisters. And because of that responsibility jgk la I came back to Medan to share the joy with my mom. I cannot let Mama alone coz I know she would definitely sad thinking of my late father.

OMG, I started this post with a bit of sad drama while I suppose to make this post a happy one.... :D

Ok back on the convocation story, we woke up early in the morning and had breakfast at the hotel's cafe.

6.30am, taxi arrived to pick up us to University Sumatera Utara (USU). Org dah ramai sampai waktu nie. Jalan dah macet (traffic jam).

Untitled-3

Since it was my 1st experience attended convocation at others country, it was a very interesting experience. If in Malaysia we normally choose Baju kurung/long dress for convocation, para wisudawati (graduan in Malay) mostly bersiap sakan for this event. They went for make up at saloon and baju2 mmg stok pengantin. Even their parents pun pkai kebaya mcm nak gi kenduri org kawen. Mmg gile rasa sempoi je org2 Malaysia yg dtg aritu compared ngan Indonesian nie.

Untitled-4

Rata2 student kat sini pun dh ramai yg pkai keta.

Me.. mmg xleh lawan la wisudawati2 nie suma

Uda pun sempoi jer. Kalu kat Malaysia dh budget "anggun" tu

Along the way to the audotorium, there were these "bunga papan" available everywhere. I will tell you later the usage of it.

Untitled-5

All the wisuda/wisudawati had been called to enter the audotorium first while all the parents had to wait outside. Makcik2 dgn kebaya jarang & rambut "pelesu", kalah I yg anak dara nie.

Untitled-6

Para ibu bapa mula mengambil tempat setelah di benarkan masuk

We got this goodies bag before entering the hall. Ade cake, bun and Tauhu. Sedap!

Untitled-8

The grand stage still empty

The arrival of all Deans, Drs, Professors, Rectors...

Speech from the rector..

Close up

Giliran fakultas kedokteran to receive their honours!!

Close up Uda. Even gambar shacking janji nampak baju merah jadilah...

Lastly before dismissed.. performance from the local artist. Toksah ckp la mmg hebat!

Ade sekali tu time national anthem diaorg di mainkan, even Indonesian sendiri pun x respect and rise to sing the song. Apetah lagi kita Malaysian kan, buat blur je la time tu. Maintained ddk atas kerusi jer. Huhuhuh.........

Alright habis sudah. Singkat dan padat. X ngantuk pun. Ehehehe...

See ramainya org. Mana nk cr Uda nie??

Kedai2 kat luar yg bakal di serbu

Everyone stuck in here...

Keadaan di luar pula mcm nie. Rimas2, and so hot lor..

Port baik utk tunggu Uda. Food stalls at the auditorium area.

Sambil legakan tekak minum air kelapa. Asyikkkk.......

Met Uda here. Rindu plak zaman jd graduan. :D

Alright, I did mentioned about "bunga papan" before kan. Well, it is a famous dedication board in Medan (Not sure la if seluruh Indonesia ke x ). Like a big wishing card! Not only convocation, you can give it to congrat people on the wedding day or any events. There are many designs where you can choose. All the flowers already decorated earlier on the board. They just left one empty space at the middle to stick your name on it. As you can see below, my sister name "Dr Nor Aishah" was made using a block from a polystyrene. Then they sticked it on the green color plate before pasted it on the board. Finally menjadilah bunga papan idaman anda.

During this convocation, the "bunga papan" was use as a photoshoot background. You just choose which background you wanted, paste your name and there you go. We got 3 shoots if I'm not mistaken. Then they will give you receipt and need to collect the photos at their shop later.

Uda with mom...

We went back inside the auditorium to take photo

Universitas Sumatera Utara Badge

Sihat Uda time nie...

Last photo before balik

Meriahkan...

Upacara sudah selesai, we all went back to hotel around 12noon. Alhamdullilah syukur finally it's over. I felt my burden lighter and really proud of my sister, Dr Nor Aishah Bt Abdul Razak. (Oh ya we both, my mom and I cried when Uda on stage to receive her degree). Congrats as finally U have fulfill our family's hope and gave us especially me opportunity to visit Medan so many times and experienced convocation from others country.

However my story isn't finished yet. To be continued in the next post. Stay tuned sweetrums!!
