Annyeonghaseyo Korea : Day 2 - Gimpo International Airport to Jeju

Basically there are 2 ways to Jeju Island from Seoul either by air (Korean Air, Asiana Air and budget airlines Jeju Air) or via ferry from Busan, Mokpo, Wando or Incheon Port to Jeju Port.

I continue my story from last post where we had lunch at Itaewon, performed jamak Zohor and Asar prayer at Seoul Mosque and next to Gimpo Airport for a flight to Jeju Island around 2pm.

v) Gimpo International Airport

Gimpo International commonly known as Gimpo Airport (formerly Kimpo International Airport), is located in the far western end of Seoul, some 15km west of the Central District of Seoul. Gimpo was the main international airport for Seoul and South Korea before being replaced by Incheon International Airport in 2001. In 2015, the Gimpo Airport has been ranked as the third largest airport in Korea after Incheon and Jeju International Airport.

The airport is located south of the Han River in western Seoul. The name "Gimpo" comes from the nearby city of Gimpo, of which the airport used to be a part.

For this trip, our agent had book a flight from Asiana Airlines. Glad as it was my first experience with this airline too. Asiana Airlines is one of 2 major airlines in Korea. This airline has its domestic hub at Gimpo International Airport and its international hub at Incheon International Airport.

My flight tickets. The flight departure time was at 3.25pm.

The airport area. Quite huge, sophisticated with excellent facilities.

We had around 1hour of waiting time before boarding so we just wandered around the waiting hall and took pictures.

The flower arches.

The traditional music instrument and carrier been displayed at the airport.

The airport parking area.

The flight runways.

Ok, its time to go to the gate and boarded into the plane.

The flight from Seoul to Jeju took about 1hour of journey.

First glimpse of Jeju Island. As a land famous for its fertilized soil, no wonder the agriculture activities are quite active here.

We safely landed in Jeju around 4.30pm. Vincent helped us to collect our luggages and directed us to our bus that already waited outside the airport hall.

Don't you dare to think that it was already end of our day as we still have few places to visit even we just arrived and it's nearly dusk. Oh ya, the sunset quite early in autumn. So where was our next destination?

Next post yer darlings.... ;=)
