Annyeonghaseyo Korea : Day 3 - Jeju Island (Jeju's Trick Art Museum)

It was almost half past ten in the morning when we reached our third destination, Jeju's Trick Art Museum where your imagination will be challenged!

During that time, the trick arts museum was still not widely available and the trick arts museum in Korea was among the early one so obviously I was quite excited and really looking forward for it. Nowadays, we can find it everywhere even in Malaysia!

As ussual, Vincent handed the admission tickets to us and allowed about 1.5hours for us to explore the museum. So we entered....

The place has different seven themes that you can enjoy. Each theme allows you to experience optical illusion art in different approaches.

First we went to the Parody Zone.
It was like in the art gallery except that all the masterpiece artworks are parody!!

Me helping & spoiling. Spotted me pulled the Napoleon's horse tail and also, OMG... a smoking Monalisa!!

Me teasing and tickling.

It was awesome to see replicas of famous art pieces all edited with illusion in mind.

For the untrained eyes, it can be hard to look at the image and decide where to stand, what to do in order to bring out the 3D effect. However don't worry, there is a description at the side of each painting and also sample photo of how to pose / correct angle to portray the 3D effect.

Mind you that coming to a place like this means you have to be silly with just about everyone here, so don’t be shy and just have a fun time. You might have to lay on the floor, crawl or any other acts. But just enjoy and go with the flow.

Me helping and getting rewards!!

Me enjoying music and dancing!

Some of the paintings didn't have any explanation or "sample picture" and we had to use our creativity which in our case no problem at all ;=)

Me connecting with the pictures.

Me in the renaissance era!

Me and my living room.

View from different angles, her leg may look short and pudgy or slim and lithe. That is why it is important to know which angle works best to us so that we will look slim and good in the picture!

It was actually a 2D painting but looks like a real 3D sculpture here.

We completed the parody zone and moved to next section, Animal Zone.
Imagine been in the zoo and got the access to take pictures of animals especially those dangerous ones right beside them or more inside their mouth...!!! Yes it is possible in this museum!!

See, I don't bluff.

Checking the hippo's mouth!

Do let me know if you have heard any person who has succeeded in their attempts to peek into a living lion's mouth without giving any sedative!

Instead of kissing the frog, I wanted to eat it!

With the cuties.. Especially the monkey!

Me with the wilds!

More animals.

From the Zoo still related with animals, we proceed to the Jurassic Zone for close encounter with the pre-historic animals.

Don't worry, T-rex might look angry but actually he was just playing with me!

How to tame a dragon...

Hey don't fly yet. Wait for me...!

Giant dinosaur peek into the window, like in a Jurassic Park movie!

Next, to the Magic Zone where you will be able to present a "magic show". I like this section the most!
Let me show you some magics....

David Copperfield will cry if he saw this!

Cool isn'it?

Duplicating myself. Front the plump version of me and back, the slim version.

Where's my reflection? Am I a ghost??

Wah!! Still smiling while doing a somersault. Isn'it great?

I'm going to the North Pole with Santa..!!

Sweet angel of ME..!!

Illusion Theme
This section showcases lots of painting that really challenge both your optical and brain!

Beside the objects that we saw in the painting, there are also hidden objects beneath it that we can only see if we focus deeply into these pictures.

Is it a couple of horse or a woman face?

A 3D painting.

It's like entering to another world when I passed by the frame.

Next, we went to Aquarium Theme.
Not much painting here, only few related to the sea-life creatures.

Looks like I'd been checking lots of animal's oral here.

Got time for fishing!

Last section we went was the Egypt Adventure Zone. It was way more fun as the setup was massive and unlike paintings, resulted in a more realistic picture.

Imagine having to cross over a plank of wood in fright despite an easier way to just walk around the perimeter.

Marching around the tomb.

King of Egypt - Ramses

Coming out from the tomb back to the surface.

I almost didn't notice that it took us an hour to explore the place and exhausted by just taking photos (lots), well plus lots of laugh also..!!!

Honestly, if you are into optical illusions and love taking photo, this place is recommended. Another tips, make sure you didn't come solo as that can be the most boring and misery place you'd been. Imagine wandering alone with no one to take your photo, and seeing another group of visitors laughing, enjoying the pose here and there. It will make you look pathetic. Seriously!!

And remember, camera is MANDATORY!

We exited this museum and gathered back at our bus around 12pm. It was noon already and like I mentioned above, we were tired and of course leads to hungry. So that would be our next destination. Lunch time..!!!!
