Trip Young & Dangerous (HK, Macau & Shenzhen) : Day 3 - Shop Till U Drop, Shenzhen

iv) Luohu Commercial Centre and Dongmen Street

Shopping in Shenzhen has become increasingly popular not just for those living in Hong Kong, but others countries as well with ten of thousands passing across the border on the weekend looking for bargains!

If you have come across the Louhu/Lo Wu border from Hong Kong, or arrived by train to Shenzhen Railway Station then the shopping trip begins almost immediately. The first stop is the famed Louhu Commercial City which is located right alongside the border port and railway station. The complex consists of 5 floors with many small shops on each floor approximately 1500 in total. This huge shopping complex consist of copy goods, jewellery, arts and crafts, clothes, shoes, custom tailors, toys and a small range of electronics and outdoor gear. The shops cluster and spread out around escalators. Be prepared to bargain/haggle & be alert of pick pockets.

Direction
- From the Luohu Immigration building, walk on again until you leave the building into the open air.
- Walk out the train station entrance and over to the right is the large commercial building right angled to the train station.
- Walk over the pedestrian bridge and into the centre to the right.

Back to our journey, once spending about 4hours at the Window of The World, we took Metro Shenzhen back to Lou Hu Station. Once arrived, since we already tired and shopping was not actually our main agenda here (which we really regretted it later), we didn't went to the Louhu Complex. Eventually, we walked straight to the Dongmen Walking Street located outside the Lou Hu Commercial Complex.

Dongmen Shopping Area is another famous shopping place in Shenzhen. Here there are heaps of individual smaller shopping market, all packed full of clothes and shoes.

Busy street at Luo Hu city.

Direction

- MRT : You can hop right into Dongmen Pedestrian St at Laojie Station exit A.
- Walk : Walk directly straight outside of the Louhu Commercial city and follow the Remington Walking Street. This street ends directly infront of the Dongmen Shopping Centre (at a big overpass section).

This place is hard to miss. At least the surface main shopping alleys is...

We arrived here around 6pm and it's already dark. This place definitely so happening reminds me of MyeongDong Street in Korea.

Spotted H&M Outlet here.

Lets explore further down the street.

McDonald's, KFC and many international chains stores and restaurants can be found in this area also.

KFC in the Pagoda like building.

You can get the shawls as cheap as RM5 here!

You can find lots of outlet like this, where all the items are sold at RMB10 (Similar like Miniso, Daiso, etc..)

Not only inside the shop, they are also selling items outside the shop alongside the street. Mostly accessories like toiletries, sunglasses and many more.

I bought a few basic things mostly lotions and masks... accessories, portable charger, shades, souvenirs and other unnecessary items. My money flew away in a blink of an eye.

Women, beauty and shopping are inseparable.

Miniso outlet.

Many branded shopping you can find here.

One of the shop giving free items which resulted this chaos.

People getting more and more crowded.

There are also food stalls all along the street selling variety types of foods.

Looks like takoyaki here..

Seafoods and sausage in stick, dip with sauce.

Durian puff??.

Drinks

We spent about 1 hour plus here until all our Chinese Yuen finished. Quite regretted for not converted our money in extra as we didn't expected the items here were so tempting and cheap! Lots of thing could be purchased as souvenir and for personal usage here. Nevertheless, as we didn't have enough money it could be our limit, so that we didn't waste by buying the unnecessary things, coz I tell U, it was just so irresistible not to shop here. Hehehehee....

We went back to Luohu Immigration back to Hong Kong around 8pm. It was the end of our 3rd day in Shenzhen. Continue on the next post for the 4th day itinerary. Till then, BYE....
