Trip Young & Dangerous (HK, Macau & Shenzhen) : Day 5 - Disneyland Part II

Same concept as others theme park, Disneyland Hong Kong also divided into few main (Themed) areas which are : Adventureland, Fantasyland, Mainstreet USA, Mystic Point, Grizzly Gulch, Tomorrowland and Toy Story Land.

Continue from last post, the first area we encountered once entering the park was MAIN STREET.

The buildings of Main Street U.S.A. at Hong Kong Disneyland are architecturally identical to those at Disneyland with stories appropriate to its Hong Kong location woven in. It still looks like 20th-century small-town America. Here is where the best souvenir shops are located, like the Emporium.

Entering the Main Street.

Among the Rides and Attractions are :
Animation Academy
Art of Animation
Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad – Main Street U.S.A. Station
Main Street Vehicles

The beautiful houses and shops lining the street from end to end make you feel as though you’re in a different place and time!

The whole town area reminded me of the USA Midwest country side from the classic and vintage building designs to the retro fonts printed on the signage board. What I loved about walking around here was that wherever I went, happy and cheerful music was everywhere to lead my steps.

Such an interesting street.

Where is my Marlboro Man, Where is his shiny gun, Where is my lonely ranger, Where have all the cowboys gone..

End of year, so Christmas was around the corner that time.

Every tiny detail such as the pastel colours of the façades, the names painted in the windows, and the fonts used on the signs are a work of art.

You can see they already decorated the buildings here with Christmas wreaths and garlands.

The stall selling snacks, sweets, bakeries are available everywhere

A Mickey Mouse waffle for you? You may find it everywhere at the various Disney restaurants afterwards.

Tour bus.

One tip for Muslim visitors, since you will probably spending almost full day here, so you need to find a place to perform solat which could be a bit difficult. However, we found out from our blogger friends that we can actually asked permission to perform our prayer at Disney City Hall in the Main Street area. So based on this info, once we reached to the Main Street and it's already Zohor time, we located the Disney City Hall which not very far from the entrance of the Main Street, went to the Guest Relations counter and asked politely a place where we can perform our prayer. Maybe they had encountered such request previously, so they ushered us to the Guest Room inside the hall and gave us about 15-20 minutes to do our business there.

The City Hall.

Alhamdulillah.. once settled our responsibility to the Al-mighty (performed Jamak Zohor and Asar altogether), we started to explore more into the Disney Park.

Disneyland also has lots of shops where you can buy gift items, clothes, and other knick knacks. Souvenir items here are a tad bit pricier, but they’re too cute to pass. If you want to be cute and take an aura of being Mickey, you may buy a Mickey's ear headband here. Most of the visitors (ladies of course) wore it. It's really cute unfortunately the price is way too much for us which is around HK$128 to HK$168 each, so we didn't bought it.

One of the souvenir shop.

Oh, another tip for you guys. You can also bring snacks and water into the park. Water costs HK$22 inside the park, but you can buy the same brand of water in 7-11 at only HK$3!!! So if you don’t want to spend so much money on water and snacks, you can bring your own water and candy :P

At the end of the Main Street. The night parade will be held here and the fireworks will be lit from the Sleeping Beauty Castle behind my back.

Every places are a good spot for photoshoot.

This mickey-shaped iron looks more interesting at night.

Entrance to the Fantasy Land at my back. But we didn't go there yet.

Second area we went was to the ADVENTURE LAND.

I recently learned that this is the largest Adventure Land in all of the Disney Parks! Bravo!!

Entrance.

Among the rides and attractions are :

Jungle River Cruise
Rafts to Tarzan’s Treehouse
Tarzan’s Treehouse
Liki Tikis

Basically, we went for the Jungle River Cruise and to Tarzan's tree house.

Follow the direction to the raft station.

The queue to board the raft was not so long and it impressed me to see the raft navigated by women!

Inside the raft where you needed to stand along the way to Tarzan House. It's not a long journey tho.

It was quite fun to see Tarzan's house in real form.

Finally we reached there.

Welcome to Tarzan Tree House. As it's located on a tree, there's a stair to climb up to the house.

The house is totally made from bamboos, woods and ropes. Very impressing as it's stable.

The view of Raft station from top of the tree house. Quite high isn't it??

There's a book displayed here that give a brief story about Tarzan.

The life of Tarzan. From the moment he was adopted by Female Gorilla named Kala who named him Tarzan, until he met Jane and married her.

Some of their belongings that featured in the film. Bdw the books and the science apparatus belong to the genius gorilla named Terk, Tarzan adoptive cousin.

We had it enough exploring the tree house, so we went back down to take a boat for Jungle River Cruise.

Jungle river cruise station.

The Jungle River Cruise will take you to explore the artificial river around the Adventure Land. Upon entering the covered boathouse dock at the front of the attraction, choose one of 3 queues indicating the language spoken by your skipper — Cantonese, Putonghua or English. Encounter awesome wonders and startling surprises along the river route.

Tarzan Tree house from the back. See how many bamboos were used as a support. But this is not a rare view in Hong Kong. Bamboos have been used widely for construction activity in Hong Kong as a scaffolding instead of steel due to the easy availability and cheap.

Highlights of your unforgettable 8-minute journey including a pool of playful elephants, cobras and giant spiders, mischievous gorillas ransacking a camp, hippos, encounter with headhunters and The legendary Canyon of the Gods.

Throughout our amazing voyage, there was a lively narration from the skipper which was funny as she made jokes too!

Finished with the cruise, we went to Liki Tikis and watch out!!! It’s more of an interactive water play area not a ride.. Get ready to be a bit wet from the splashes of water—pounded out by this circle of “leaky” tiki totem poles.

Other attractions at Adventure Land.

Next, we moved to the TOY STORY LAND.

This land is themed after the popular Toy Story movies and is conveniently located next to Fantasyland.

Follow the signboard.

The walkaway to the Toy Story Land.

Approaching...

Rides and Attractions here including :
Barrel of Fun
RC Racer
Slinky Dog Spin (a must for young kids)
Toy Soldier Parachute Drop

The Toy Story area was one of my favourites in the Disneyland Hong Kong, it had this interesting pop of colours, oversized characters, stationery and this was the place we tried the rides :D

Andy's Theatre made from large cardboard.

Such a colourfull park inside.

Ya, we took picture with Andy!!

Large alphabets. I told ya, everything here are so interesting!!

It's a nice feeling to be like a children sometimes. Riding a frog car!

Honestly, most of the playgrounds here in Disneyland belongs to kids, and those adrenaline boosters are not much here, so RC Racer is basically it’s like a giant motor swing, a high speed U shape coaster. It’s probably the most intriguing ride you can find in the entire Disneyland Hong Kong and DO SIT IN THE FRONT ROW.

RC Racer

It started pretty slow and steady, and soon getting faster and faster, the most horrifying moment has got to be when the ride reaches a nearly vertical position that you wonder if it’s going to fall off the rail, and not to mention, the spontaneous transition really made me feel like peeing!!!

Adrenaline still rushed, we moved to next attraction, Slinky Dog Spin. This powered roller coaster is the tamest attraction in the land, simply offering a continuous, circular ride up and down a relatively gentle incline. Aimed primarily at a younger age group, it nevertheless provides enough fun and kitsch design to be appreciated by a wide demographic of visitors.

Went into the line.

The parking pass before boarded into the dog shape ride.

If you fancy something less scary, go for the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop located just across the RC Racer. The ride will slowly take you up and down back and forth. We went for this also.

Parachute Drop.

The plane where the parachute dropped.

The parachute basically going up and down in circle with different speed.

Ok time to move.

We continued our walk to the MYSTIC MANOR

The Mystic Manor is this gorgeous mansion, almost a medieval one mixed with modern, pop and Amethyst vibe to it, and reminds me a lot about Haunted Mansion. Mostly covered in dark purple color, beautifully design and made perfect for photo backgrounds. Inside you’ll enjoy the moving tour of Mystic Manor, one of the best rides in the park with great special effects and music.

The Explorer’s Club Restaurant is one of the Halal dining place in Disneyland Hong Kong which approved by The Incorporated Trustees of The Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong. Here, there are different counter order stations featuring Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Southeast Asian food. This Hong Kong Disneyland restaurant has five dining rooms themed after various part of the world. Give it a try while you are here!!

We on the other hand, didn't go the restaurant but straight to enter the manor.

Entrance to the manor.

Among the props inside the manor.

The tour took about 15 mins where they brought you to explore a mystifying museum where exotic artifacts from around the globe come to life right before your eyes! I would suggest you to try enter this manor as it was really fun.

Infront of the manor. It's really big right?

Photos with performers wearing multi-ethnic costumes.
