Sydney, The Land of Oz - Paddy Market (Last Day)

Shop Till You Drop - Paddy Market, Sydney

Sob.. Sob.... Finally our holiday almost came to an end. But we still got few places to visit before returning our car to the agency. We checked out a bit late, almost been charged for penalty, (buat hal checkin lewat, check out pun lewat :=p) luckily I'm a good negotiator and to be exact "arguer" so we managed to escape the extra charge. Fuhh!!

We prepared a chicken kebab (wrapped with tortillas)

Our last breakfast at Sydney.. :=(

Lots of visitors leave their note here.. So did I...

Spending the remaining time here....

What a pleasant place...

Sayonara...

We bid goodbye to the Base Hill Park around 12pm, quickly got in the car (before the staff change their mind and charge us for the late check-out) and off we went back to the city for another major xtvt here.. SHOPPING..!!!

Sub-urbs area

One of the monumen around Sydney City

The church.

We met again Anzac Bridge. Till we meet again in future.

As ussual after passed through the Anzac Bridge, that means we arrived at the Sydney City area. Since our main itinerary for that day was to shop, we went to Sydney's most popular souvenirs and accessories centre - Paddy's Market.

(i) Paddy's Market

Sydney’s Paddy’s Markets at Haymarket is located just beside Chinatown’s main street Dixon Street, on the ground floor of the Market City Building. Paddy’s Markets is one of Sydney’s largest markets with a wide variety of goods ranging from fresh produce to souvenirs and cheap imported clothing and accessories.

Driving to Paddy's Market was quite straight forward as the signboards were adequate. Once we saw the Market city building, we parked our car at Wilson Parking Station off Quay Street and in the Entertainment Centre.

China Town area.

From parking area, we walked a bit to the market city. Women and shopping are inseparable, look at our faces. Excited huh!!

The entrance. Ok lets go in!!

Paddy’s Markets is a great place to get cheap souvenirs, clothes, imitation bags and gifts. There were many rows of shop all selling almost similar stuff. In this case, our bargain skills were highly demanded to avoid getting ripped off as this place is very popular among the tourists. Luckily it was air-conditioned, so quite comfortable and we could spent much longer time here :=)

We ended up at this one clothing shop. The owner is a Chinese-Indo. Since he could speak Malay, easy to nego / bargain, quite lots of choices and the price was quite reasonable too; so we just bought all t-shirts there. Did you noticed the green colour paper that he hold in his hand? Ok, if you think it was a cash note than you're wrong. It was actually a coupon! If I'm not mistaken, for every AUD10 we got one coupon. I will tell you on how to redeem this coupon later on.

We take a look on the items sold here first...

Now, back on the coupon that I received upon purchased the items at the Indonesian shop earlier. We needed to redeem at one booth inside the market.

Well the coupon was actually a chance to win a few prizes offered by Paddy's market by spinning the wheel of fortune board. One coupon for one spin... who knows if we could win a grand prize of Toyota Yaris..!!

It was not our luck though :=( However we were satisfied with the consolation prizes where we received a bag, Paddy's Market T-Shirt, Key Chain and Fridge Magnet!!

One shopping bag full with souvenirs for family! Mine one was enough. I'm not a shopaholic person when travel.

Mission accomplished!

Do take note on the business hours ya!

Walk back to our parking

Kayrie ladened with lots of shopping bag. One was for sure not enough for her!

We still had more time to spent so we decided to go back to Circular Quay area and visit Sydney Opera House during daytime. Semalam frust sbb gelap kan....

We passed this Queen Victoria Building. A late nineteenth-century building designed by the architect George McRae in the central business district of Sydney, Australia. The Romanesque Revival building was constructed between 1893 and 1898 and had underwent remodelling and suffered decay until its restoration and return to its original use in the late twentieth century. The Queen Victoria Building occupies an entire block on Sydney's George Street, and has over 180 of Sydney's finest fashion boutiques, jewellery shops and homewares, accompanied by delightful cafes and restaurants.

Rich in history and architecturally splendid.

So, I stop my writing here.
For more story, I shall continue in next post ok!!
