Mabuhay Boracay : Day 0 - 1st Night & Emmer Musa Birthday Party!!

Continued from last post where we took ferry from Caticlan to Boracay HERE.

You are almost arrived when you see the Boracay Island on the other side.

iv) Tuk-Tuk to Boracay House

This was finally our last transportation to our accommodation, Boracay House. Once we arrived at the Cagban Jetty, the Southwest agent already awaited and lead us to the Tuk Tuk which will bring us to our House.

The tuk-tuks from the jetty picked up their customers and bring them to their hotels.

Excited faces of us inside the Tuk-Tuk to the Boracay House! (Nasib guna 360, berseri skit muka. Sebenarnya masing2 muka dah pecah minyak time nie)

Notice inside the Tuk-Tuk. Well this is quite common. Even in Malaysia, kalau pagi2 kau dah hulur note besar, mau kena kecam wei. Silap2 no change ok.

Had these views along the way to our house which located at Bulabog Island. The Boracay town looks similar like any other island's town that I've visited such as Kuah in Langkawi, Phuket and Bali Island.

Row of grocery shops.

You can get main ingredient like eggs, rice, sugar, salt and etc here.

v) Boracay House

Finally, this is really final.... after about 15-20 minutes ride, we reached to Bahay (House in Philippines) Boracay.

I'd informed in the preparation post, that despite the location of our house which is quite near with the Bulabog Beach, free from disturbance, very calm and peaceful, however it is located on a very steep hill. The first sign that we would have an issue with this shown right away during our arrival here. Our Tuk-Tuk was having some difficulty to climb the hill. OK, we thought it was because of our heavy loads (7 adults plus luggages) so some of us got off from the Tuk-Tuk and climbed the unforgiven hill. Never that we knew that this problem would haunt us forever, no matter how many person in the tuk-tuk. We could only ride until bottom of the hill, the Tuk-Tuk driver refused to sent us up to the house.

Nevertheless, finally we reached to the House and our caretaker, Cheche with her cousin, Dexter welcomed us.

A little bit about our tentative of program that night, we will celebrate Lina's son, Emmer Musa birthday party. While Lina already booked a birthday cake from Madam Ross earlier (read my post on preparation), we also needed to find foods for dinner. As per Dexter's advise, he will call the Tuk-Tuk which will bring us to Station 2, White Beach where lots of restaurant available along the stretch of the beach. He named 2 restaurants, one is Kingdom Of Boracay and the other one was new restaurant True Food for us to look into.

It was nearly dusk, so we decided only ladies will go out that night hunting for foods while hubbies stayed at home with the kids. Saja kasi can kita pompuan ni outing sebenarnya :D But before that, Lina called Mdm Ross to sent the cake to us. While waiting for her, we surveyed the the house to get the idea on decoration for tonight's event.

Wooden stair to the attic.

Mdm Ross is a Phinoy who married mat salleh. He came with her husband to sent the cake to us with a motorcycle (luckily the cake was in good condition) and we were very surprised and happy to see the cake. Well up to Lina's expectation and satisfaction la. After receiving the cake, we called Dexter to arrange for the Tuk-Tuk and then when it came, we straight away to Station 2 without taking shower or refresh first.

vi) Night life at Station 2, White Beach & True Food Restaurant

Honestly the distance from our stay to main road and the white beach was not very far, it's just the hill and there're some area which quite deserted and dark especially at night. Since we were in a hurry and still not familiar with this place, taking a Tuk-Tuk was really a good idea. The Tuk Tuk took us from the house and dropped us at Station 2 and we walked into D'Mall area. D’Mall is like a one-stop-shop open air market located roughly between Station 1 and Station 2. You will find tourist related stuff here like beachwear, lamps, jewelry and native woodcarvings. It’s also the best place to shop for shirts, sarongs, tie-dyed stuff, key chains, and other souvenirs. Here also you will find hundreds of restaurant serving everything from local Filipino dishes to international cuisines and of course lots of cool bars. Station 2 itself is known as Party Section. Perfect place for those looking for happening place to hang out at night!

The environment there was so crowd and vibrant, yet we just only walked through the rows of shop without stop anywhere (OK tipu. Stop for taking pictures yes) since we had another important mission to find a restaurant. We walked further to the beach where all the restaurants located while been followed by lots of people promoting their restaurants, and luckily not so long we found one of the restaurant suggested by Dexter, the TRUE FOOD.

True Food is a restaurant which served Indian Cuisane. It is a descent restaurant located along the beach in Station 2, expected the price would be expansive too!! Nevertheless, it was Lina's treat that night in conjunction of her son birthday. We ordered Thali (Northern & Southern India Style Set Meal).

While waiting for our ordered foods arrived, we had one thing that one shouldn't missed while in Boracay - FRUIT JUICE!!

There were lots of restaurant available along this beach and with nice decoration facing the beach.

One of the restaurant next to True Food Restaurant.

Boracay is different when blanketed in darkness. During the day, it is a sparkling tropical island paradise strewn with white sand. At night, the sand gives up the spotlight to the establishments lined up along the beach, its lights, its music, its food, its crowds.

Fire ball performing by the beach.

All the crowds drew nearer to have a close look on the fire performance.

Me on the other hand just watched the performance from distance in my seat at the restaurant while having a nice PINEAPPLE juice. It was so hot even at night, I was sweaty and definitely probably stink!!

vii) Emmer Musa Birthday Party, Boracay House

Finally after received the foods that we ordered, mission accomplished so we walked back to the entrance of D'Mall which heading to the main road and took Tuk-Tuk back to our house. This was when we had second encounter on the hill's issue. As ussual, when you hanged out with all your lady's friend, we all got excited and we chit-chat, gossiping, laughing like crazy. Our voice would definitely echoed all along the peacefull road along the way back. (Klau org tak tgk sape yg dalam Tuk-Tuk tu, mesti ingat minah mana yg balik malam mabuk2 nie). When we almost reached the house, the driver of our Tuk-Tuk took a junction to climb the hill, however it was pulled backward which made us screamed! He made a second attempt, pressed the engine firmly but was still unsuccessfull. We screamed louder, then we heard the driver said something like "Calm down!!".. Shocked, everybody suddenly quiet and silent for about few seconds before we heard the driver said once again "Go down..!!"... Owh that was it. We thought he was mad at us and annoyed because of the loud noise we made when he couldn't get his bike climbed the hill. The truth was he asked us to get off from the Tuk-Tuk as he could only sent us up to the feet of the hill. We needed to climb ourselves by foot! Sadiskan.....

Nevertheless, we reached to the house in piece. Exhausted, thirsty, starved... we quickly set up for the birthday party.

Parents of the birthday boy were in action!

Our dinner.

We had a vege dishes like dhaal, cabbage curry and salad. Overall the taste was ok.

And the party started. It was really happening and one of the best moment I had while travelling. From that time on, I had a wish to celebrate my birthday while on vacation or precisely in another country. Tercapai ke tak? Well you need to keep reading my blog to find out :P

Group photo.

Another happy photo.

So that was it our activity on the first night at Boracay Island. We called it a day, took a bath and went to sleep as we needed to be in a full energy for the next day activity.

Stay tuned.
