Mabuhay Boracay : Day 2 - Last Night

v) Peso to Zero, shopping at D'Talipapa.

Boracay is well-known for its vibrant and wild nightlife. Most of the clubs, bars and lounges are lined alongside the footpath in Station 2. Station 2 is the centre of nightlife action in Boracay. It is a place for beach parties where bars and pubs blast loud music all night long.

Last day in Boracay, what is the most perfect activity rather than to spent our remaining peso right?? So lets go shopping.

But before that, after enjoying the sunset at the White Beach, Kayrie, Miss Yar and me went for a mission to hunt for Hair Braiding service. Apart of this, massage and manicure/pedicure is a must try service when you are in this island.

Infact, we didn't have to hunt at all. The entire stretch of beach was full of street hawkers and locals approached us offering for massage and hair braiding services. We settled down with this one package at PHP 150. The normal ranges for hair braiding were around PHP 50-250 depends on the design.

Next after getting our hair done, now its time to SHOP!

The beach is lined with hundreds of semi-aggressive vendors all ready to rip you off the minute you stepped foot on the beach. Getting hassled or ripped off cannot be avoided in Boracay and usually, you will still overpay, even when you bargained.

Even so, do haggle and negotiate for a lower price, especially when you are buying more than one item from the same vendor. But please do not start haggling if you are not serious about making a purchase.

Fire dance show at one of the bar located along the White Beach.

Local gig at D'Mall area.

Boracay is sprawling with small stalls and cheap souvenir shops if you know where to find them. D'mall at Station 2 is the most popular when it comes to souvenirs but I found that D' Talipapa shops also at Station 2 are more open for bargain and slightly cheaper than D'mall prices.

So from D'mall, we walked to D'Talipapa, met Lina & Fizah there and continued to explore D’Talipapa for some souvenirs. We bought mostly fridge magnets and t-shirts there.

vi) Paluto Dinner, Wet Market D'Talipapa.

I had mentioned in previoust post that Boracay has many restaurants and bars along the White beach. Buffet price ranges are from PHP 220 - 1200 per person or if you're looking for affordable seafood feast, head to D'Talipapa. It's a wet market that adjoins D'mall and Boracay's main shopping area.

So this is how it works.. There is a wet market in the middle of D’Talipapa. And around of this wet market, there are rows of restaurant. HOWEVER, these restaurants do not have any seafood.. you have to buy from the wet market and bring them to the restaurant for them to cook. YES. ALL of the restaurants there operated like this. It is called PALUTO.

Bamalex went to the wet market to buy seafoods.

Wet market located at the centre of D'Talipapa.

We went to one of the Halal restaurant located infront of the market. Mind you that since this area located nearby the wet market, it was a little bit dirty and smelly. So it is advisable to choose a closed and air-conditioned restaurant (not open air) so that the smell and chaosity in the market didn't get through inside the restaurant and you could eat in peace.

Lets dine in.

Upon arriving, decide on what you want to eat and bargain with the vendors. You can bargain down the price as much as 50% depends on your haggling skills. These can all be taken to the surrounding cooking service of your choice for PHP 150 - PHP 250.

Bamalex bought 3 snappers for PHP600 so we ordered to cook the fish by grilled, steam and the other one recommended by the staff there, mango salsa. It's like their signature dish. We also ordered for kangkung spicy. Overall the dishes were a thumbs up!

Our dinner.

Mango salsa. Owhhh I could still remember the taste. So delicious. No wonder it's been recommended by the restaurant. And now I recommended you to try.

Steam fish.

Happy tummy!

3ways of cooking charges at PHP 150/each (Approx RM12). Steam rice about RM2, coke 1.5L RM9 and kangkong RM8 definitely on the high side if you're in Malaysia, but if compared to the local price, these were quite cheap considering you're in tourist area.

Nevertheless, the foods were good. We were fulled and satisfied..... satisfied enough to even gave a recommendation / compliment to this restaurant.

Lina was giving her compliment note. They will post it later at their glass wall. One of the reason for compliment probably because the staff there kept praising Lina as pretty as beauty queen. Sweet talker betul!!

The staff with our compliment. (She's the one yg sweet talker tu). It was fun to chit chat with her also. Pandai layan customer.

Our compliment note will be posted here later. Can see others note from other happy customers from all over the countries as well.

So that marked our final activity here. We were totally flatted since the morning ATV activity until late night. Lots of walk and sweat!!

We took Tuk-Tuk back to our house and started the most hated activity during holiday. PACK TO BACK HOME.

Till then sweeties. Final post next.
