Mabuhay Boracay : Day 1 - Magic Island (U jump I jump)

iii) Cliff Jumping at Magic Island.

I left you with my last post where we finished snorkeling at Crocodile Island, then our next destination was to Magic Island. So what so magic about this island?

Looking to partake in some cliff-jumping while in Boracay? Head to Magic Island! What better way to enjoy the crystal-clear waters than to jump right in? Once you make your way to the rock ridge, you will see numerous wooden diving boards. Pick the one at the height you’re most comfortable with, and be sure to make a splash!

Another one place that very famous for cliff-jumping is the Ariel's Point, however the package to Ariel's Point is very expansive around PHP 2000/pax for 6 hours activity due to the far distance and unlimited food and drinks (buffet) along the journey. So as an alternative, Magic Island is definitely a best place to experience the cliff-jumping.

It took around 20 minutes from Crocodile Island and once we arrived at Magic Island, we spotted people whooping and cheering. I was puzzled why they were cheering at first, but as I got closer I could see that there was a diving board where people could jump on to get an extra spring in their jump as they jump off the cliff, sometimes doing a flip too.

We got off and walked on the unsteady rocks and arrived on the top of their rock ridge. Up there, we could see the whole area of the ocean. The water was so beautiful, so blue with white specks of boats floating in the area which probably how this island got it's name - MAGIC, for the magical views.

We were enjoying the view and seeing people doing cliff jumping.

There're different heights of platform for people to jump which at 3,5,7,9 and 10m. The 10m platform is the most crowded one.

Alex pushed us to do the jump. When we were quite hesitated and pretending to ignore him (of course we were thrilled and scared to see the height of the cliff and the depth of the water beneath), so he made a first move to demonstrate and jump into the water... straight from the 10m platform!

Alex jumped. You can see a line already formed at the 10m platform where people waiting to jump.

Next harusla abg Navy kita menyusul. Klau x malu weh. Aksi ala2 diver nak terjun laut.

The water was shallow about 30-40 feet deep, which we could tell by the colour which was in dark blue. It would be impossible for you to touch the bottom if you jumped in.

After Bamalex, it was Fairul's turn to jump. kena jaga air muka juga takkan laki x lompat kan... Even gaya kurang, tp kredit harus di beri for the courage. "Nora kasi 3 Ha"

OK, loncatan kali kedua buat Bamalex. Motif lambaian...?

Ok lambaian ke arah peminat rupanya. Ade peminat mat-saleh. Harap Lina x marah. Hehehehe...

Another action....  Everybody who was watching cheered and was entertained. "Nora bagi standing ovation"

There's a platform and few huts for people to sit, enjoy the scenery and also support the people who doing the jump!

OK, since all the men already did the jump, it was now our turn the ladies.
I will not boast, I’d only tried the 5 meters. My heart pumped sooo freakin’ fast when I step on the tip of the board. It was really an adrenaline rush.

Jangan drama lebih bole tak?

Nevertheless, I went ahead and ran off the cliff into the water.

Gedebush!!!

Don’t worry, there are life guards waiting and will throw the swimming float once you emerged from the water. You grabbed the float, and the life guard will pull you back to the bank.

Once did it, it was fun and ended up I jumped twice here. So, that’s equivalent to 10 meters high.(Like it really matter... hehehehe). The thing why I didn't dared to do more higher jumping was not because of the height, it was because we were not equipped with the safety/life jacket. As an amateur swimmer, I can't barely swim and panic in deep water. Somemore the waves were a bit choppy so getting out from the water was a bit difficult also.

Miss Yar did a 3m jump. There was a lifeguard ready with the float in the water. Miss Yar strategi utk pura2 lemah menjadi coz she really got special attention here. Hehehe... bijak!

Overall, it was one of the best experiences in my life. If you're planning to go island hopping in Boracay trip, don't miss out to visit this tiny island. It has nothing to offer except the cliff diving which is quite unique and challenging as well. Nature at its best and experience a very safe cliff dive. Amazing!

We spent about an hour here, the tour guide prompted us to get to the boats.
So what's next. As ussual to be continued in next post, but before that I leave you with one special photo of jumping action, not only rarely seen in Boracay, I bet in another place as well...

Presented to you... TITANIC COUPLE JUMP!

Bamalex x puas beraksi sendiri, nak beraksi dgn wife plak :D

Till then peeps............
