Mabuhay Boracay : Day 0 - The Adventures Begin

i) 05/06/15 - Friday. Flight KLIA2 to Kalibo, Philippines

It was the day. Our flight was at 10.30am, so around 7am I already went to Lina's house. Miss Yar also was there. We both car pooled with Lina & Bamalex to KLIA2. Bamalex parked his car at the parking lot and we continued for check in process.

We then had a breakfast while waiting for Fizah's family and Kayrie.

When all our travel members completed, then together we proceed to the departure hall and not so long waited, were called to board into the plane.

Bismillah...............

About to take off. Excited face!

Since the air flight takes 4 hours and once you touched down, there will be another 4 hours journey awaited you from Airport to Boracay Island, it is advisable to take heavy meal earlier in the flight. We never know either there will be any restaurant along the journey or if there is, either we managed to stop by or not since in our case the transportation already set up already by the Southwest Tour once we stepped out from the Kalibo Airport.

Inflight menu, Macaroni and cheese. Yummies. Harap dapat bertahan kenyang sampai petang!

As ussual filled up the Arrival Card earlier in the flight to avoid long queue in the immigration later.

What to do in a 4 hours journey flight?? Sleep.. eat... enjoy the sky view... read travel 3sixty Airasia magazine... gossiping (if your travel member sit next to you)... sleep again.. enjoy sky view...(Owh ya selit selfie juga) :D Repeat all those until the flight landed.

View from the sky. Incredible...

Leaving the Malaysia land border to South China Sea.

Arriving to the Philippines land. Located in the Pacific Ocean's Ring of Fire, volcanic and seismic activities can occur anytime in the Philippines, which has 23 active volcanoes. The perk of it is, look at the soil. It must be very fertile which explained the greenly plantation below..

ii) Kalibo Airport to Caticlan Jetty, Aklan Philippines bus transfer

Finally, we safely touched down at Kalibo Airport around 2.30pm. If it's not because of Boracay Island, I never imagined that I will visit Philippines. Now I can proudly crossed out Philippines as country in South East Asia that I have visited. Yeay!!

Weather was windy and drizzly rain welcomed us that day to Boracay.

With Fizah infront of Kalibo Airport. It was wet a little bit there as the rain was just started.

Surprisingly even it is an international airport, The Kalibo Airport is relatively small. The check out process through the immigration and custom was smooth and not so strict. As we stepped out of Kalibo Airport, there were rows of stall where tour operators offered various packages consisting of a bus/van ride to Caticlan Jetty and ferry to cross to Boracay. Since we already made a booking with the Southwest Tours, we went straight to the entrance and looked for a person (Southwest representative) whose holding my name written in a white board.

Ya we found it easily!! HAZELIN GOMEZ lagi... Baru touched down, dah dapat aura Pinoy :D
So we followed the representative where they gave us sticker for identification and ushered us to the shuttle bus which already waited nearby the airport area.

The sticker which written our accommodation in Boracay.

It was empty when we boarded into the bus so apalagi, buat macam rumah sendiri dulu.

After few minutes, almost all the seats were occupied then the bus started to move.
Heads up, it’s a two-hours ride to the jetty. Prepare the playlist on your phone, catch up on your sleep or enjoy the scenery of the Aklan countryside along the way.

The rain just stopped this time. Spotted there Jeepneys, the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines.

Welcome gate.

I really enjoyed the views and observing the lifestyle of the locals. After all that is the point of travel right? Experience and learning other's culture, history, lifestyle in the same time visiting beautiful places, relax and enjoy ourselves with family, relative and friends. Well at least for me that is!

Jom sambung layan the interesting views captured by me along the journey from the bus's window.

Let's "the photo speaks for itself" moment (Alasan malas nak letak caption)

There's a paddy field here. Macam dah kat Kedah plak rasa.

Some winding route along the journey. Time ni dah bole layan tido.

I woke up when the bus had a stop at Ibajay Rest Stop. This place is a rest stop midway into the 2 hours road trip where many buses will stop at for about 15 minutes or so. Passengers can use the rest room facilities and purchase refreshments at this rest stop's convenient store.

You know what, I found Nestle ice cream and it's with HALAL certificate! Bought it straight away.

After 15 mins stopped, the bus then continued the journey.
You are nearly arrived when you saw this river.

Entangled wire cable. Still cannot challenge the one I saw in Hatyai. Lagi serabut!!

Fuhhh..... finally around 5pm we reached the Caticlan Jetty which is the jump-off point from the main island of Aklan (where Kalibo is) to Boracay Island. Still the journey wasn't finished yet so we continued our adventure via ferry to the island.

iii) Ferry from Caticlan Jetty to Cagban Jetty, Boracay

"Jomla mama, mama ni skit2 nak bergamba bila nak smpai". Fizah's son Daniel already had it enough with us who kept stopping to take photo.

Once you arrived at the jetty, you can just follow the crowds or there's also Southwest agents there to assist you to the Ferry. Remember to keep the sticker that they gave to you earlier. They will identify you based on that sticker.

Boarded into the ferry.

Cepatla... abg belakang dah buat muka.

Emmer musa lambai sapa tu?

The ferry ride took about 10 minutes to Cagban Jetty, Boracay. Not so much interesting view to see in this short ride so no photo :D

Well, seksa dah abis ke??? Want to know more?
